Movie Review: Silent Hill

Brief Summary: Based on the video game, a woman named Rose takes her adopted daughter, Sharon on a road trip. They travel to the town of Silent Hill where nothing seems right. When Sharon goes missing upon arrive into the town, Rose goes on frantic search. She runs into Cybil again and offers her to join. As the two travel deeper into town, they start to discover its secrets.
While in the school, the twosome encounter a threatening image of Pyramid Head. They manage to escape once the darkness fades away. More and more is coming their way. But it isn't until they reach the hospital does things go south. Dark Alessa talks to Rose personally and tells the story of how Alessa became what she did.
Rose learns that Alessa is the darkness ruler and she has no intent of stopping until revenge is for filled. Reluctantly, Rose helps the dark haired girl get into the church by possession. Christabella had kidnapped Sharon and about to do what she did before. But Alessa will have none of it as all hell breaks loose around them. It isn't long until Alessa's revenge is complete and the world starts to change back.

The Cast:
-Radha Mitchell (Rose Da Silva
-Sean Bean (Christopher Da Silva)
-Laurie Holden (Cybil Bennette)
-Deborah Kara Unger (Dahlia Gillespie)
-Alice Krige (Christabella)
-Jodelle Ferland (Alessa/Sharon)

Portrait of the Video Game:

Devil's Pit in Downpour

The movie is great for visualizing Silent Hill but it never could stand up for the actual game it was based on. The video game is said to be violent and downright disturbing. In the first game, the story revolves around Harry Mason who is in search of his daughter, Cheryl. In the movies, this is played out opposite but we are introduced to Cheryl aka Sharon early on. As the game series moves on, more and more people are introduced.
Downpour is a great example of this. It introduced Murphy Pendleton, a inmate who was being transported to another prison. He was involved in a crash with the rest of the inmates on the way, Silent Hill looming in the distance. Actually playing the game, you get to visit sites outside the actual town-- Devil's Pit is one of these. This game became a sudden hit because of its mixed approach upon having you explore different locations.
But as the story goes in the movie, it is still the same in the games. You're trapped in Silent Hill and you have to find a way out. Simply right? Not quite. You still have to face the darkness and everything that looms in it. But it is only the first and second game you come face-to-face with Alessa herself. But the thrill and chills it provides is one thing the fans love.

My Review:
This is one of the few movies based on a video game that never got the recognition it deserved. Its concepts were well matched with the original game, sharing well adapted ideas from it. The monsters were realistic and strange as they should be-- a thing of nightmares. Although it lacked the blood bath we usually see, it was suspenseful and eerie. Jodelle did a fabulous job of portraying both Alessa's dark side and Sharon. The town's view was perfect, nailing the opportunity of using fog and creating a dark world inside it. I didn't really find the creatures as disturbing as they could of been but their interpretation was good. I liked how each one was different and most came from the actual game-- such as Pyramid Head and the Armless Man. The perfect surrounding made anyone cringe and the horrid sounds just added to it. This movie is definitely in my top 25, being more creepy than gory however. I felt as if I was stuck with Rose in Silent Hill, taking you deep into the town's history which made the movie so interesting. I would suggest this movie to any avid horror game fan that has or has not played this one. Great movie for this who are looking for the jump scares rather than the blood.
I rate this movie a 5 out of 5 stars

Spotlights:

-The Armless Man
Being the first monster encounter as well as an iconic one from the game made this moment just as bittersweet. But the jerky motion and disturbing look would make any new viewer shake.

-Walking Though The Nurse Herd
This moment was one of best due to the not only iconic nurses but the fact she had to walk through them. Any movement and sound triggers them so watch out! Would you survive?

-Killer Confrontation With The Guardian
Even though we see him before this moment, it just proves how dangerous he really is. Snapping someone's neck with one hand is a definite fleet and we know that this guy knows business.

-Releasing Alyssa
If you were asked to carry the darkness ruler, would you? Rose obviously wasn't expecting this horrid experience. But have to be honest, the fact she came out of her cut was pretty nifty!

Fun Facts:

Monster Me!
All of the creatures in the movie were played by real people. Some of the moments were CGI but most of the popular known creatures such as Pyramid Head and the Nurses were all done in real-time.

The Stilts of Pyramid Head
Roberto Campanella wore 15 inch heels which were actually boots. He portrayed Pyramid Head himself, reaching nearly 7 feet tall with the boots on.

Catch the illusion
The jerky and strange motion of the Nurses was actually done as a trick. The women were filmed walking backwards and they'd run the film in reverse to complete the effect.

Thanks for reading! I meant to get this done before Halloween but it never happened. Anyways, hope you enjoyed it!

Movie Review: Annabelle

Brief Summary:
In the late 1960's, a couple is expecting their first child. When John gives his wife a vintage doll, their home is invaded by two satanic cult members. The woman member dies with the doll in her arms after bleeding on it. When the twosome returns to their home after the attack, Mia is put on bed rest. She begins to experience strange things while alone in the house. But it isn't until a fire starts in the home does the couple decide to move away, believing the house is haunted.
Mia and John arrive with their newborn daughter, Leah to their new apartment. While emptying out their final boxes, Mia finds the doll on the bottom. John swears he threw her away and offers to do it again but Mia refuses, placing her front and center over Leah's crib. As their lives continue, Mia starts to experience more intense happenings. She then starts to believe the doll is causing it.

The Cast:
-Ward Horton (John
-Annabelle Wallis (Mia
-Alfre Woodard (Evelyn
-Tony Amendola (Father Perez

Real Doll, No Real Story:
If you haven't already seen my review on opposite movie, The Conjuring, you may not know that Annabelle is more than creepy face. She is a real life doll that is in the Warren's museum. But sadly, this movie only briefly went over her known story. Although, it would of been nice to see the story we have read, this one was a pretty decent glimpse at what she is. The Warren's admit she is of "demonic nature" and shoudn't be taunted. Remember that if you ever get the chance to see the real Annabelle.

My Review:
Although, not as well as counterpart, The Conjuring, it did have a good amount of creepy factor. Annabelle herself is rather a big part, being disturbinly eerie and clear cut. The story itself was interesting enough to keep watching but sometimes very predictable. However, it was missing more scenes with the actual Annabelle doll, having many opportunities. The actual characters were lacking in few spots and seemed a bit too literal.
But there are quite a few suspense parts for any those who love a jump scare. I found that having the doll obsessed with the rocking chair was a fun addition. However, when we actually saw the demon, it reminded me too much of the one from Insidious. Also, didn't like the fact that Annabelle was an older woman rather then the girl she was suppose to be. But despite all this, it came out pretty well rounded and made a good story.
I rate this movie a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars

Spotlights:

-The Death After Attack
The actual death of Higgins was one of the weirdest moments of the movie. Not only was she holding the Annabelle doll when she died, she also did some fingerprinting on the wall. Not creepy at all, right?

-Always with the Rocking Chair
Since The Conjuring, it isn't surprising that this freaky doll would have a liking towards rocking chairs. Throughout the movie, you find her alot in the white rocking chair, disturbing grin on her face. She even once was listening to John and Mia. That is just not right.

-Bleeding Eyes
If you have read the story, you may recognize this one. According to it, the doll's eyes would bleed for no apparently reason and no answer how. In the movie, you do see them bleed, just moments after she was taken from the couple's home.

-Soul Battle
When you have a demon in your home, there isn't much to do about it. You could bless the home or exorcise a person but you just can't do a doll--sorry to say. But the battle between Annabelle and Mia was one of the best parts of the overall movie. It was intense and rather eerie. Not to mention, Annabelle did her signature scribble on the ceiling.

Fun Facts:

Actress named Annabelle
The actress who plays Mia is named Annabelle

Mis-Doll Misconception
The real Annabelle doll is a Raggedy Ann doll not a porcelain one. But it was done on purpose to give its audience the creeps

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed my first review in a long time. Happy early Halloween!

Movie Review: Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

Brief Summary: The story about a wild stallion that takes an adventure of a lifetime. After being captured by the Calvery, Spirit is taken to their camp where he discovers that horses are used to be ridden on. The Colonel becomes an instant enemy as he tries to break Spirit. But Spirit refused to obey as he is tied to the post for three days. Some members would bring in an Indian named Little Creek who was supposedly stealing food. The two would escape to the desert as Spirit finds Little Creek isn't alone-- the boy has brought his own mare named Rain. The journey continues as Spirit and Rain fall in love but get separated after a river mishap. A heartbroken Spirit is taken to a future train yard to help assist the people in building the railway. Spirit manages to trick them and make a run for it, just to be rescued by Little Creek once again. The Colonel manages to catch up to them, chasing them through a canyon where the once wild mustang flies.

The Cast:
-Matt Damon (Spirit)
-James Cromwell (The Colonal
-Daniel Studi (Little Creek

Visual Vision:
One thing about this motion picture that had critics applauding was the amazing visuals of the West. Being that I live in the West, the setting was very accurate and visually stunning. It included many of Southern Utah's red rock and Yellowstone's majesty. Dreamworks has defiantly out done themselves on this one in the visual point. It is realistic and imaginative. Just proves that they have what it takes to be absolutely amazing.

The Music:
I have to be honest with you, this movie's  soundtrack is the one best of the best--next to Disney Movies. The album was done by classic rocker, Bryan Adams. This is one soundtrack I suggest you take a listen to.

My Review:
This movie is one of my most favorite of all-time and for good reason. It is visually stunning and a fantastic story. The fact that the story is told in Spirit's point of view made it even more well worth it. I love how it brought me home to Utah with the view of the arch. It also showed accuracy that most wouldn't see, including the settings and the animal's possible thoughts. Although, the people are the enemy, you still can't help but like them. Little Creek and Rain are proof of the human/animal relationship is to be cherished and enjoyed. This is a good feel movie with a sad scene but makes you feel inspired.
I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars

Spotlights:

-The Intro
Know that stunning visuals I was talking about? Well, this is the most notable scene for it. The movie begins with you taking a ride with my country's bird, the bald eagle. You go through a gorgeous red canyon and hover above a river-- it is absolutely amazing. So take a ride with the bird of freedom and experience what the West has to offer.

-Introducing Spirit
This scene is what starts his story as Bryan Adam's Here I Am plays. Cute, right? No movie should be without the moment of cuteness. Anyways, we see how the colts play and how they interact with each other-- not to mention, Spirit broke off an icicle that was bigger than him.

-Welcome to Camp
When Spirit first arrived at the fort, he was met by the Colonel, who he hated from the start. He was then brought to Pete who attempted a few times to cut his mane and put horseshoes on-- after getting hit time after time again. Soon after, Spirit was saddled and ridden-- flying every solider off after another. It was a stressful day that made him end up tied at the pole where he met his complies, Little Creek. Quite a entertaining montage really.

-Rain
A beautiful mare with a very sensible side that likes to play. When Spirit first met her, he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Sounds sort of like people, don't it? Although she had different thoughts about him, they still ended up together for the long run. Can you imagine what their colt is going to look like?

-Soring like an Eagle
The last five minutes is the chase through the canyon. As Spirit and Little Creek think they lost them, they run into a problem-- the gorge. It is about a ten-story drop and there is no way of getting across. That is why Spirit does the unthinkable-- he jumps. For a moment they sore, making this spotlight a massive part of the movie.

Fun Facts:

Horse Time
Real-life horses were recorded for the sounds of hooves, naying and the herd
(Source: IMDb)

What A View!
The settings in the film were based on real places in the Western United States. The canyon for example, is based on Bryce Canyon in Utah which is known for its hoodoos (rock pilars)

The Real Horse
Believe it or not but Spirit is actually a real horse. He can be seen in person at the Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary where he is an ambassador of the Kiger breed of mustang

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy this movie just as much as I do. It is a wonderful movie for all ages so get out there and watch! Also highly suggest the soundtrack :)

Movie Review: The Conjuring

The International Poster

The family wouldn't expect what happened next-- as they left the basement alone, things begun to happen around the house including mysterious noises and visions. The family is terrified and goes in search for help as Carolyn runs into the Warrens, Lorraine and Ed at a school campus. The Warrens agree to check out the house, realizing there is something more to the sudden increase of paranormal activity-- research shows that a witch had sacrificed her 7 year old baby in the house and has a tendency of possessing the mothers who moved into the house to kill their own. The Warrens are nearly too late when Carolyn runs off possessed by the witch. It is up to the Warrens to perform a exorcism on her before it is too late. Based on an actual real case by the paranormal investigators, Lorraine and Ed Warren.

Ron Livingston (Roger Perron
Shanley Caswell (Andrea Perron
Hayley McFarland (Nancy Perron
Joey King (Christine Perron
Mackenzie Foy (Cindy Perron
Kyla Denver (April Perron
Shannon Kook (Drew)
John Brotherton (Brad
Sterling Jerins (Judy Warren

The Real Story Behind Annabelle:

Left: Real Annabelle; Right: Movie Version
Although she is not the main point of the movie, she does play a significant part in the history of the Warrens-- being consider one of their most famous and talked about cases.
Be prepare because I'm about to tell you her story:
In 1970, a woman bought her daughter, Donna a child-sized Raggedy Ann doll for her birthday. Donna was just about to graduate from nursing school and she had accepted her mother's gift. Her roommate and friend, Angie was the only person to know about the doll as she would be left on the bed. Donna and Angie would sudden begin to notice weird things revolving around the doll. At first it would look like the doll had changed position, Donna would claim that she would leave its arms next to it and legs straight, just to return home that night to find them crossed.
Things would get worst down the road as the doll begun to migrate around the apartment-- one minute on the bed, then the next-- in the living room chair. Make note this all occurred when these two where out of the apartment and being the only ones with keys. Donna even told the Warrens that sometimes the doll moved to other rooms completely, leaving it on the couch and coming home to find it in Donna's room with the door shut. But it wasn't until their male friend, stated as "Lou" was involved that things begun to turn. Lou said that the moment he set eyes on the doll, he knew it was evil but the girls wouldn't believe such. But it wasn't long until they would begin to find suspicious notes written in crayon and in a child-like scribble. They would read "HELP US" and one even read "HELP LOU". The girls were suspecting it to be a prank from an intruder but Lou believed it to be Annabelle.
Although the entity seemed particularly kind to the girls it shared its space with, Lou still had none of it. Less than two months later, the girls returned home from school, not surprised to find the doll had moved from the living room to Donna's room but something was off. Donna approached the doll, realizing it was had oozing blood on its hands and chest. This is when the girls knew it was time for some help. They would call in a medium who would help them discover the truth.
The medium would tell the girls about a 7 year old girl by the name of Annabelle Higgins whose body was discovered in the field upon the property the apartments sat today. She couldn't tell them much else about the entity. The two girls were very touched by the story and told Annabelle she could stay. From then on, the doll became known as Annabelle. But that was mistake they were going to regret.
Lou asked Donna to get rid of the doll but she would refuse, saying that it would be the same as abandoning the child. But it seems Annabelle did like his thought. Lou would start to have nightmares about the doll crawling up his sheets and strangling in to death. The Warrens would state it as an attempt of choking on Annabelle's part-- being that she was actually there and actually choking him. But she wasn't done yet.
While preparing for a road trip, Lou and Angie had been going over the maps. Suddenly, a strange shuffling would come from Donna's room and Lou would be the one to face whoever it was. Lou would enter the room after it stopped and found the doll was thrown up against  the wall. Lou said he felt a tingling as he approached Annabelle. Angie described this experience as terrifying as he was found to have claw marks on his chest. The Warrens have confirmed they were real but oddly, they disappeared forty-eight hours later.
The Warrens declared the doll was indeed possessed but by something worst. Their investigation revealed that Annabelle was actually a demon using the girls. She acted like a child just so the group would allow her into their lives. An Episcopal blessing was performed in the apartment. As for Annabelle, she was taken from the house by the Warrens. Today, she coincides in the Warren's Occult Museum behind glass because of how dangerous she potentially is. They claim that she moves around in her case from time to time and highly suggest you absolutely don't touch the case or talk back to her-- you may not make it home.

My Review:
Real stories make the best stories as I have found over the years of watching them. This one being no exception to the rule, being downright creepy and original. I remember sitting in the movie theater with my sister, being prepared to watch it and the first thing you see is Annabelle. Not only is she creepy looking but very realistic-- but in reality, why would you have such a doll in the first place? She had to be one of the best additions to the film despite not being the plot point. While the story does not start out with the victim being killed, it begun straight away with the Warrens who are incredible people with the brains and compassion paranormal investigators should have. I instantly starting liking Lorraine when she came on screen, being sensitive to her surrounds and amazed at everything she does. While on the other side of the spectrum, you have the Perron family who is being terrorized by the twisted force inside their home. As usual, there was a lot of screaming and the suspense just kept coming-- which is why this movie is so great. It didn't remain on the family scene for very long and kept moving along, throwing in a terror scene here and there. Of course, possession movies were always a good aspect change to the Horror genre since it became popular. You'd be surprise to know that they are a massive fan-favorite part of this genre-- including big names like Paranormal Activity. If it wasn't for these movies, the genre would of died a long time ago. But really-- who needs a genre full of slasher flicks. Now adding the fact it is based on a real event-- that is a big plus that people need to look out for became they make awesome movies. With intuitive ways and actual smart acting, it made this movie a top favorite on my horror list.
I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars

Spotlights:

-The Intro
Although very brief, it had to be one of the creepiest beginnings yet. It stages Annabelle as an overpowering force with a damaged face and fading paint. It covers a good bit of her story but to be honest with you, doll or not, it was freaky. Intended to scare, just like it was suppose to definitely.

-Wanna Play Hide-And-Clap?
Being locked in the basement was always a bad choice. It is a known fact that they are consider the creepiest place in any house, I'm sure you'd agree. When Carolyn was locked in by an unseen force, it was just panic from then on. The spirits were restless that night, creating chaos and fear. Lucky for the family, dad came home early.

-Seeing Rory
When it comes to seeing the dead, a mirror had always seemed to help. In this case, Rory, being one of the many faces the witch had forced mom to kill, has become friends with youngest Perron, April. Even though it was suspected, Rory did appear in the mirror but very creepy like. I loved the fact they used a music box-- very unique and never seen item to use as a source of vision reply.

-Through the Medium's Eyes
Who wouldn't be freaked out to see someone hanging from a noose? Even though, Lorraine was the only one to see such along the way, it had helped them with the case. I loved seeing what she saw directly and distinctly as if looking through her eyes. Who knew her sensitivity would pay off?

-Annabelle has a New Friend
Being one of the creepiest pieces of the movie, Annabelle was never alone in the Warren house. The Warrens' daughter, Judy had a secret interest in the doll but told numerous times to not touch her. Although, she did fear her and when the witch arrived unexpected with Annabelle on her lap, Judy's fear became overwhelming. But serious, who wouldn't be scared? A creepy doll and a child killer witch in one room would be a nightmare waiting to happen. This scene was actually one of must scariest of all.

-The Possession
The actual possession was one of the most intense scenes of all-- being the edge-of-your-seat kind. There was screaming, violence and levitating. Ah, good old possession action! But this was also the most important scene, being that the witch is revealed and things are answered more effectively. No split pea soup here! Gladly, it all ended with the witch returning to hell and the family back together.

Fun Facts:

Witch Namesake
The witch is revealed to be named Bathsheba which is from the Hebrew Bible-- it means "daughter of the oath". And she was indeed a real person.

Death Beyond Compare: Who from  the Story Has Moved on?
Sadly, everyone has to die someday. As of today, Lorraine is alone inside her house/museum who still amazingly does her job as a paranormal investigator. As for the Perron family, all five of the sisters are still alive and well.

House of Horrors
There were eight generations of families that lived in the farmhouse before the Perron. Their deaths included two documented suicides, a poisoning, rape, a murder of a 11 year old girl, two drownings and four men from freezing to death. Most of the death's were in the Arnold family who are descends from Bathsheba.
(Source: IMDb)

You Can't See Me
Believe it or not but Lorraine was actually in the audience in the front row of the lecture hall scene when Carolyn was listening on the Warrens' presentation.
(Source: IMDb)

Stand By Me
Both Lorraine Warren and Andrea Perron joined director James Wan on set during the filming. They both claim the movie is very accurate.

Hope you enjoyed my very first real-story based review and find it quite fascinating. Great movie and I hope you take the time to watch it someday and thanks for joining me!

Movie Review: Frozen

Brief Summary: The story of Anna's journey to help her sister, Elsa after her icy powers become out of control, freezing their kingdom of Arendelle in an enternal winter. Teaming up with mountain man, Kristoff, his reindeer, Sven and a snowman named Olaf. Her journey takes her on a thrill ride through dangerous conditions of winter as she finally gets to Elsa who accidentally attacks her sister. Now it is a race of time to get Anna the love she needs as the kingdom suffers after Hans, Anna's "fake love" reveals he has better ideas for the kingdom.

The Cast:
-Kristen Bell (Anna
-Idina Menzel (Elsa)
-Jonathan Groff (Kristoff)
-Josh Gad (Olaf
-Santino Fontana (Hans)

The Good of Frozen
The world has just seen such a beloved company make such big marks in what they do best. Frozen has been one of the most searched and bought album on ITunes since it came to theatres last November. Disney being one of the most popular and most beloved companies for centuries, Mr. Walt Disney has made a huge impact on the world just as he had wanted, I'm sure he is looking down at us with a big fat grin across his face. Not only was he a genius but today, his accomplishments are worth about $4.8 million as of 2012 which has mostly likely doubled to $6 million, especially after Frozen's massive earnings. As Disney fans alike came rushing in, it would create a new fandom of Frozen fans which has added to the hundreds of fandoms all across the grid. But we knew It was gonna be big, right? Not only was this movie awesome in Disney Movie-Goers eyes, it was even bigger in critics. Ends up, this movie may be Disney's biggest of the year.

The Music:
Disney is a massive part of the music industry and it just keeps impacting people through the years. Frozen is no exception, being on ITunes Top List of Albums for months!
• Most Popular
 - Let It Go
Fan-Favorite
 - Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?

My Review:
I have waited months to see this movie and when I did, I loved it just as much as everyone else. This movie was mystifying and beautiful with its ice magic. Olaf was absolutely adorable and full of the fun we all love about Disney movies. The music was fantastic and catchy-- as usual! But the part I loved the most was all about Elsa and Anna. Not only does it remind me of sibling love but how great a story can be with it. There was just too much of this movie to love and I could go on forever but it is defiantly a fan-fave that no one will forget.
I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars

Spotlights:

- Posing with Paint
When Anna was singing this part of First Time In Forever, I absolutely loved how it showed her joy side by "playing with the portraits" upon the wall. Not only would this be fun to do in real life but who seriously has portraits that big? Gotta love Disney's genius when it comes to objects. Keep up the good work!

- Let It Go Scene
Ok this is a huge scene in everyone's eyes so I have got to share it. Not only was this scene was visually stunning, it also has a reason behind it. It shows Elsa's feelings very hardcore and creates a world where she is free which I loved. Who doesn't have their own quiet place? Elsa has obviously found hers in this scene and that is what made it so great. Of course, the song would make it better nested among its quota and being the most popular song of all, it has defiantly made the statement it was meant to.

-Anna Meeting Kristoff and Sven
Don't know about you but the moment Kristoff walked through that door covered  in snow, Anna had a instant connection with him. It would become more obvious in the bobsled as they'd meet eye to eye. Gotta love a romance you know will happen even before it does! Not only were they a great match but a unique one at that. But we all know a Disney movie is not a Disney movie without a love connection somewhere. This one is one of few I want to see more of in the future.

- Introducing Olaf
Being one of the most loved characters in the movie, Olaf is a snowman with huge meaning behind him. Although it took Anna a little longer to realize what he meant, it never stopped her to get to know him. He is a hug-loving sweetheart who knows what love means. This character is a big influence on the movie despite what he is and why in the world he loves summertime. I would give him a hug, wouldn't you?

- The End that Unfroze
This hug was the one that saved Anna's life. It was also the scene that unfroze the whole kingdom. When Elsa realized what she has done, everything was about to change. Once the world returned to summer, it became a better place. But the love between Elsa and Anna was the answer to it all in the end. Just proves that love is powerful and we can't survive without it.

Fun Facts:

Elsa the Ice Queen
1) Elsa is the second Disney queen with powers, Rapunzel being the first
2) She was intended to be the villain until Let It Go was heard
3) She is 21 years old
(Source: IMDb)

Behind the Tale
Frozen was based on a fairy tale called: The Snow Queen which was pretty dark that included talking ravens and a woman they meet who is known for witchcraft

Where We From?
The movie was either based on Poland or  Hungarian which was based on the Vikings and Sweden. This explains the bright colors and animal furs

Bring Me A Reindeer
Walt Disney Studios brought in a real reindeer to help with their design of Sven. They did the same for Lion King, bringing in actual adult lions and cubs

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this one too! I'll be here again eventually and I'll make sure to bring you some more Disney. Have one you want me to do? Give me a comment below!

Originally a hard-hit film by critics for its terrible outlook and generally unappeasable, this horror movie was one of the laughing stocks for a long time to come. But today, the film has been making a comback in its general area. The horror genre taste however is always changing which most likely gave this movie it's well deserved recognition. There is many more getting interested into the idea of it and seem to enjoy it. It has proven that movies can go from low to better after a few years of release and oh of course, a little something called Netflix

My Review:
When I first saw this movie, it has to be one of very few that actual made my skin crawl. This has to be one of the best movies to watch for a marathon if you are a fan of the gorey or just plain weirdness. The killers are unexpected and in a way, very crude without the scary factor. Jared and Chad being the two hunks along with the most notable personalities, they did a super job on portraying their characters along with Brian and Elisha. However, Jon And Richard didn't seem to be horror movie material, lacking in character and screams. And quick note: don't go to a wax museum after watching this movie--not smart!
I rate this movie 3 1/2 stars out of 5

Spotlights:

 -Wade's Death

Ok, maybe a bit unnecessary and cruel to all us Jared fans (I cried the second time when I realized who he was) so yes, I agree. The whole waxing process before being shown off was even good! However, apparently you should keep blades away until it hardens completely. But anyways, despite a horrible part to watch, it was also one of the best. Probably one of the most gross scenes of all and unexpected, it made for good big screen.
WARNING! GORE BELOW

This picture is after he was waxed. The ripping of the wax layer was an accident on Vincent's part. He would die instantly after this had happened. Terrible way for one of Jared's characters to die.

 -The Hunt Is On

I have to be honest with you, the moment you realize a killer is on your tail, the best thing to do is to play hide and seek-- not! Although, in House of Wax's case, hiding was the best times to see the townspeople in all their glory-- literally! In the run for their lives, Nick and Carly visit such places as the movie theatre (pictured above), the chuch and stole weapons from the sporting goods shop. Talk about being creeped out than usual by no one around you moving.

 -The Ending

Sometimes it is sad when a movie ends but sometimes not. This one was no exception to the rule that an ending can be wicked. When a whole place made up of wax-- one of the easiest manageable materials in the world is caught up in flames, it's pretty damn cool.

Some Fun Facts Before I Go:

Oops Factor
Believe it or not but the director got in trouble by the authorities in Australia for  setting the House of Wax museum on fire--oops!

Care For Some Wooden Shoes?
Carly (aka Elisha) actually had a small version of stilts strapped to her shoes. As we know, Jared is a tall guy (he is 6'4") so it is not surprised the poor girl needed some man-made help. This explains why her height kept changing randomly.

Location Mishap
The movie was filmed in beautiful Australia but it had a lot of geographical errors. It is suppose to be set in Louisiana which doesn't have gum trees.

Supernatural Where Thou?
This movie was released May 6th 2005 which is just 5 months from Jared becoming Sam Winchester in Supernatural. They are both turning 10 this year.

Alright guys, I'm glad you decided to join me in celebration of this movie's 10th birthday. I hope you have enjoyed it. Fret not, Kit-Kat shall return for another sometime.
